Grandmother's Flower Garden - 17 July 2013

I must admit, I am terrible at putting fabric together for a quilt. So I did this experiment to combine all the colours on the colourwheel and after 220 hours of hand-piecing, this is the result.

I started this project in 2008. Sometimes I got stuck, because I wouldn't settle for a colour that was slightly off...

This quilt has 2737 hexagons and 391 hexagon flowers. Although it was a traditional quilting technique, I quilted it rather modern.
